Mark your calendars for September 7, 2024, as Stamford, Connecticut, gears up for its much-anticipated 13th Annual Health Wellness & Lifestyle Expo. Hosted at the picturesque Harbor Point, this year’s event promises to be a vibrant celebration of health, wellness, and community spirit. With the support of Stamford Health, the Exclusive Healthcare Partner for over a decade, this expo is set to be Connecticut’s largest health event, featuring an impressive lineup of over 120 sponsors and exhibitors.
A Day of Celebration and Community
The expo kicks off at 10 AM with an opening ceremony led by PJ Kennedy from Hey Stamford. Attendees can look forward to a warm welcome from Stamford Mayor Caroline Simmons, who will present a proclamation to Stamford Health in recognition of their unwavering support over the past 13 years. This year, the Community Leadership Award will be bestowed upon KeyBank and BLT/Harbor Point, honoring their five years of dedication to the health and well-being of the Stamford community.
Adding to the excitement, the expo has been awarded the Community Impact Grant from Eversource, a testament to its role in enhancing community health and wellness. Tamara Ketler, the event creator and coordinator from TMK Event Marketing, expressed gratitude for this recognition, emphasizing the expo’s commitment to fostering a healthier community.
What to Expect at the Expo
The Health Wellness & Lifestyle Expo 2024 will feature a diverse array of exhibitors and ten activation zones, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Stamford Health will have a prominent presence, offering valuable resources and information at their tent. A highlight of the day will be a special presentation in the Group Fitness Zone from 12 PM to 1 PM, titled “TIPS FOR YOUR HEALTH & WELL-BEING WITH EXPERTS FROM STAMFORD HEALTH.” This informative seminar will cover essential topics such as childhood wellness, obesity prevention, and the importance of establishing a primary care physician.
Health Services and Free Offerings
Support Sponsor ShopRite will be on-site, providing free flu shots (most insurance accepted), nutrition education, and healthy food samples prepared by their chefs. Attendees can also enter a raffle for a chance to win a hand-crafted healthy gift basket filled with wholesome products.
In addition to health services, the expo will feature financial wellness guidance from KeyBank, pet care services from Camp Bow Wow Stamford, and health information from various local organizations, including GameDay Men’s Health Stamford and Cassena Care.
Engaging Activities for All Ages
The expo is designed to be family and pet-friendly, with numerous activities for attendees of all ages. The Pet Wellness Zone, sponsored by Spot On Veterinary Hospital & Hotel, will cater to furry friends, while the Kids Zone, sponsored by One Speech Therapy, promises fun activities in Harbor Point’s sand pit and play area.
Fitness enthusiasts can participate in free group classes led by top instructors from Life Time Stamford, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Harbor Point boardwalk. Additional zones include the Yoga and Stretching Zone, Healthy Home Zone, and the ever-popular Touch-A-Truck Kids Zone featuring local emergency services.
